Tarantula

Today I came home from work to find the Baby's (see post below) Mom or Dad in our driveway.

This sucker was big. Probably 4 inches.



Note how well camouflaged he is.



The above is his "I'm big and threatening" posture. (He really was big and did not need to posture.)

He could run fast at times as well.

Fun was had.



Shoes are a good idea out here though.

Seems like I have lots of snakes and spiders on the blog. It is not like we see these every day out here, just a few times a year. I think they are cool enough to always warrant photos. The snakes and tarantulas are definitely more active in late summer and fall. The tarantulas are almost all males out looking for a mate.

Besides they are harmless as shown below.
