One, Two, Three, Four......

FIVE!

As in # 5.

After Christmas dinner, Heather announced that she had one more present for me and I needed to open it in front of everyone.

I got a wrapped box with a positive pregnancy test and a note that read:

Today, in the city of Prescott, a child is expected, he is baby #5. If he is a boy, his name shall be called Joshua: "God is Salvation" in honor of our Savior, whose birth we now celebrate and our dear friend Josh whose courage and love for others inspired us and reminds us that each day is a blessing.
Praise God for new life!

Quote of the week

Rachel: We sang tow songs tonight. "Away in the manger", and one I can't remember...

Abby: Yeah, it was about the surgeon Mary.

Business News

I am getting slowly up and running. I have two awesome employees, and have even figured out how to pay them.

Computers and phones went in last week. I have set up Quickbooks for the office accounting, have a corporation set up, have contracted with a billing service for the patient accounts, have obtained and set up (sorta) an electronic record, have obtained all the insurances necessary, have a building with two year lease, bought an ultrasound machine, and am currently in the process of furnishing/decorating the office getting last minute details up and running.

Next week is my last with Southwest Surgery, then we are live in January.

It is challenging, but not impossible. I have learned a lot and continue to learn on the fly in the process.

Family Photo

Try as we might. There must be four billion variations before you get a decent one.

Not bad.

Christmas Pageant

Fun as always.

Joel's Birthday

Three birthdays in three weeks!

Happy 2 buddy.

Moving Day

This is the only photo. On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, we moved all the big stuff (Eric had been moving boxes all week). Our help was basically Eric's biking/running buddies, and a great help they were. We are greatly in the debt of these folks (in addition to Lisa Hosking who watched the little kids, and Chris and Cylinda Bray who were busy working at the time this photo was taken.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a little weird. We were moving, Eric was on call. It was his birthday as well. No way were we planning to do much.

Then Friends invited us and our four kids over and treated our family like royalty with a great banquet. After that this couple took our kids to Goldwater lake while we got some moving work done. Hectic, but we were very blessed.

Thanks Tom and Ginna.

Finished house shots

Despite the fact we've been in for nearly three weeks, we've had no time at all to post pics.

Here is the kitchen and master bath.

So far we are loving life with all the room.

Abby's Birthday

How true this last photo is.

Thanks for bringing the noise to our lives little one. Happy "4"

Mr Bono

I was reading from the book of Ruth to the kids the other day, and we were discussing how Ruth says "where you go I will go , where you stay, I will stay., etc"

Ethan pops up and says: "That is sort of like that song Mr Bono sings."

"What song?"

"You know: "walk away, walk away, walk away walk away, I will follow""

They take it all in don't they.

News Flash

Eric quit his job today.

Gave notice that is. I will be with my current practice as an employee until the end of the year. After that I am on my own with all the risks and benefits that entails.

Heather is 100% on board with this decision. I also had wise counsel from many other folks whi felt this was the right path for us.

More here.
